One Day You'll Be Cool

I really do not like when somebody ask me the question "What is your favourite film?"- And it's not because I could not start listing off an abundance of films that I love and would consider favourites, but more because it is just too broad a question and one that I will consider long after it was asked to me and think, Damn I should have said this.

But despite my mild dislike of the question, it is still one that gets asked a lot, maybe because subconsciously people think by knowing people's favourite films it will give them an ever so slight insight into somebody's personality- which may or may not be true.

Aside from all that bibble babble though, a permanent staple on my own list of all time favourite films would definately have to be Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous. It is one of those comfort films that I can recite word for word and leaves me with a good feeling everytime after I watch it. Perfect actors, perfect story, perfect soundtrack, perfect cloths, perfect film really. Very lovely.

A Cure For The Blues

Do you ever get hit with an unexplainable case of the blues? Or maybe an unexpected bout of lethargy which leaves you with no motivation or inspiration for the day that looms ahead?

Well look no further for a cure, because here it is- Listen to some records from The Beach Boys. Because even if it doesn't do the trick long term, I challenge you, if not only for a little while, to not smile and get all gooey on the inside while your listening to their cheery infectious tunes.

Here is one of my favourites for your listening pleasure...

Miss Lazy Saturday

Last Saturday was more like a lazy Sunday for me. I went for a stroll with Sinead to one of the finest Mexican Restuarants I have been to outside of actual Mexico- Mexitaco. Then I spent most the evening watching films and drinking copious amounts of coffee just because it was the weekend and I could. Blah Saturday.

Freaky Friday

The last few weeks seem to have been going by at the speed of sound, which of course means the weekends of those weeks are going by at the speed of light. Before I even seem to ease into the weekend, another Monday morning is dawning and the work week looms ahead- Not that I'm complaining of course.

On Friday night I went on a little Bar Hopping adventure with Sinead. Starting the night at Lee's Palace for a few drinks, then onto a little bar that was screening old Marlon Brando movies and had a bartender with one of the biggest smiles I have seen in a while, then we ended the night at Cherry Cola until I was hit with fatigue and went home to collapse into bed.

All is right in the world- Barbie & Ken are back together (-:

Watching Clouds

He had been taught how to kiss by the town’s whore, who incidentally was also the town’s most beautiful and sought after girl. She had been three years above him at school and he remembered perfectly the scene of the first time he had approached her.
It was one of those sunny fall days where the light makes everything look like a dream. Edward had been following her for four blocks waiting for her admirers to disperse before he approached her.
Excuse me Annabelle, but may I lend your ear for a moment?”
Who are you?”
My name is Edward. We both go to the same school
And so?”
Right, well I was wondering if I might be able to ask you something?”
Well then ask won’t you and we’ll see if you can
He hadn’t been prepared for her overwhelming stifling beauty, he had always known her to be beautiful, yes this went without saying, but standing in her presence with her eyes locked into he’s own, he felt almost as if she had him in a trance and this he had not been prepared for. After a few moments of burning silence she finally spoke.
Have you forgotten Edward?”
I was wondering if you might kiss me? Perhaps even several times until it feels right
And why would you want to kiss me?”
Because I have not kissed anyone before and you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen outside of the fantasies of cinema
And why would I want to kiss you?”
Because you are a whore
A smile crept across her face by this last statement and she quickly looked around where her and Edward stood as if to make sure no one could hear them before whispering.
I am not really a whore you know Edward. It is just easier for people to not be so envious of me when they can imagine that I must be a scarlet woman, so for this reason I let them think this
I think you are beautiful
Are you not too young to be thinking about kissing girls?”
I plan to be a ladies man when I am older, like Dean Martin or Leonard Cohen and so I figured I should probably get started early if I am going to achieve the same kind of status as them
She laughed at this, but not in the same patronizing way that he’s mother had when he had told her of his plans, but in way that made him think she really believed that one day he would in fact be a world-class lover.
You are a very sweet boy Edward. Would you like to walk home with me?”
Very much so
It wasn’t until she was sure that they were out of sight from any hidden eyes that she held his hand in hers and it wasn’t until a few weeks after their first meeting, that behind her dad’s garden shed whilst they lay beside each other on the sharp grass watching the clouds, she gave Edward the kiss that he had so very much longed for.

A Picture Of...

For this Sunny but cold Friday I have decided to do A Picture Of Montage- which I have seen cropping up on an abundance of blogs from all over the world. But since it is a Friday and my creativity and originality levels are nil, it will have to do. So now come along for a journey through time and space...

A Picture of You.

A Picture of someone you spend a lot of time with.

A Picture of a place you love.

A Picture of your siblings.

A Picture of something that makes you happy.

A Picture of your best friend of the opposite sex.

A Picture of great times.

A Picture of somebody that you miss.

An old picture of you.

A Picture of somebody you used to see a lot but now do not.

A Picture that makes you laugh.

A Picture of you when you were happy.

A Picture of one of your favourite foods.

A Picture of one of your favourite vacations.

A Picture of someone you can tell everything to.

A Picture taken in a Photobooth.

A Picture of you on your Birthday.

A Picture of you when your hair was different to now.

A Picture you have never posted on your blog.

A Picture of your favourite place.

A Picture of a great night.

Uninvited Snow & The Unexpected Letter

I awoke on Wednesday Morning to a street lined in a coating of white- which is not fair as it is suppose to be Spring now in Toronto and last week held such a promise of nicer weather on the way. I even put my winter boots away on the hope I wouldn't have to be seeing them again for a while, Sigh...

But on a brighter side of things, I arrived home to find a nice little package from my sweet sister Jessica who is back in Perth. I also successfully cooked Salmon for the first time and some of my finest creamy mash potatoes to date! Fine Wednesday.
